15th November travelling
** Today is the last day of my journey.
** It's now quite hard for me to comprehend that I have actually been away from my wife, my children, my home & Perth for 17 weeks but I leave for terminal 2 at Heathrow airport about mid afternoon and my flight to Singapore and then onwards to Perth where I arrive about Wednesday midnight. I certainly miss all back in Perth, maybe some a bit more than others. If you wanted me to miss you too, you needed to be as cute a my wife.
** I will have more to say in my overall reflection of the trip. This might take me a few days of contemplation so give me a bit of time to overcome my jetlag.
** It's 7:15. Just an hour twenty to go before take off.
** Going through security I witnessed a terrible example of American privileged white trash at its very worst. A youngish white blond US woman, extremely loud, extremely obnoxious & obviously feeling very privileged, refusing to follow security instructions, complaining that "this did not happen in the USA" (like hell). They eventually took her off to the side to chat to her, to the applause of the hundreds of the rest of us doing the right thing.
** As an example of being of the older generation, I suddenly realised as I was walking to my departure gate that I had not gone through emigration yet. I asked a few people of my vintage and they were as complexed as I. No idea what might eventuate, but there will be a lot of us caught up in this 😄
