3rd October Amsterdam
** Woke at 7am as Tash had to do a reticulation repair on our main lawn and she might have needed me to do a video call to help with something. One of the sprays had been smashed out resulting in a total loss of water pressure in that section. Apparent she did a great job so whatever small issues remain they will get fixed in about 6/7 weeks time when I get home. So my Senior Mine Geologist can now competently fix home reticulation disasters.
** Melody flew out to Singapore at 5pm (Perth time) and arrives in Paris at 7:35 am (Paris time) tomorrow morning. I'm sure she is so looking forward to see young Emmett, who she has not yet met.
** Yesterday I booked for two museums for today, being the Van Gogh and the Moco. The Moco was somewhat small, and very expensive for what it was but very interesting nether the less. As I finished it within an hour I justed to look around for what else there was do in the area. I suddenly realised that I was staring at the entry to the Stedelijk museum of contemporary art. So I paid again and went through it.
So for three museum tickets for today, I am down about €65 ($104). It has been the most expensive day to date for museums, but I am a great believer in museums and how they stimulate the mind. The images from these museums will be uploaded late afternoon, possibly from 3pm onwards.
Today I achieved all three museums I wanted to visit. I walked around 8.8 kilometres and the leg is starting to object. However I intend taking it easy tomorrow so allowing ime for Pain to subside
** Near the museum area I saw this bike resting up against the edge of a bridge. I think the slogan around the peddles says it all.
** I basically love this time of the year because this week is Nobel Prize week
The Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institutet has decided to award the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to
SVANTE PÄÄBO
“for his discoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution.
