17th October Essars / Bethune
** After a very late sleep in, Marie's mother very kindly offered to take me to the village of Lens where there exists a small Louvre satellite museum.
They had a Champollion exhibition relating to the use of the tri-lingual Rosetta stone as the keystone to translate heiroglyphics and the French work in Egypt over the period of the early 19th century. The exhibition seemed more about the life & times of France & the French. However it was very interesting.
** The Champollion exhibition
** The second half of the museum is a curated selection of artifacts from the Louvre covering the period 6000 years ago until the time of Napoleon.
