14th October Bruxelles to Lille

 ** Didn't sleep much last night. A mixture of many drunk people down in the narrow streets of Bruxelles, plus the fact that I booked a train to Lille that leaves way too early in the morning so that I would concern myself over missing it and finally, the cherry on the cream on the cake of my lack of sleep, Melody & I get to meet up with each other in Lille late afternoon today. So all told, I kept waking up, checking the time, writing some chats, reading the news, then trying to fall to sleep again, and so the cycle just continued through the night. 

Finally got up just after 5am. Walked up to Brussels Central and caught a train through to Brussels-Midi (also known as Brussels South apparently). Long story, short story, train left on time and 35 minutes later I'm in Lille France. What this means is that having finally arrived in France, I have now basically ticked off country number 10 and the final country on my journey.

As I said yesterday, I booked us into the Lille Ibis. Definately basics all round but no surprises. It is less than 3 minutes walk from the Lille Flanders station and about 15 plus minutes from Lille Europe.
