22nd September Milan to London.
** You should all know the words to the song by now! "Another suitcase another hall ......." I packed late last night and set out early-ish this morning (6am) for the 2.1 klm walk to the station. I did a practice walk yesterday and I achieved it in about 40 minutes so hopefully this morning, with no distractions, I should be there in time for a coffee and no more than about 30 minute wait for my 55 minute train ride to the airport. I suppose this airport is the equivalent of flying out of Gatwick.
** I actually did the walk it in 25 minutes this time! It's amazing how quick a walk can be when one does not allow anything to sidetrack you.
** After this big stretch of my tour, that has covered 5 countries & 9 cities including, Copenhagen, Berlin, Leipzig , Dresden, Prague, Munich, Zurich, Bern & Milan, I sure am pleased that I fitted in these recharge weeks. I am tired of course, but more so mentally & emotionally, rather than physically, which is diametrically opposite to how I thought I would go.
The final stretch will now see me travel for about two weeks on my own and then a week (of not travelling but) with Mel, Marie, Matt & Emmett & Marie's family outside of Lille and then another week with Mel in Paris hopefully going to the Louvre a few times, before she returns down-under. During this period there will be both Mel's and Marie's birthdays and Dean will be in Paris and Karen & Aiden will come from London for a few days to see the new baby so although the museums will have thined out somewhat, I will still be extremely busy.
** This is going to be my very first Easyjet flight. I am already not impressed with their business plan in the way they deal with customers. They are happy to take one's money but are not willing to allow changes to minor aspects of a booking.
** Having been delayed for 55 minutes already back in June or July, I am happy to announce that my Easyjet flight to London, currently, is delayed again by 20 minutes. The following are sculptures at Malpensa airport, depicting passengers awaiting for their delayed flights.
** Well, there is a first time for everything. I had not noticed on my boarding card when I checked in this morning but apparently when I included in cabin large bag, I got slightly upgraded to speedy boarding. So, I was the first one through, and the first on the plane. Gee, like travelling 1st class. LoL. I suppose it makes up a bit for the slight delay.
