20th September Milan

** Buongiorno famiglia, e amici.

** It's a nice blue sky day here in Milan with the temperature sufficiently high enough not to worry about a jacket, I hope. This part of my trip is coming to a close rather quickly as it is Tuesday morning and I fly out on Thursday morning, back to London.

** I have decided to visit the Pinacoteca di Brera, that apparently is the main art gallery in Milan. Considering that I have been to three or four 'major museums already, I am really interested what is extra special about the Pinacoteca.  The Brerea is an old but very trendy part of the city and lies adjacent to the Castel and large park I spent my time at yesterday. You can see on the map how close I was.

It's a pity I was not better informed before I made my bookings as I think I would have enjoyed staying in this area.

Walking through the Brera today. Streets are narrow and they twist & turn. Cobble stones everywhere.

** Pinacoteca di Brera.
The building is really interesting architecture but 90% of art work is religious, of the religious sort. However it is worth going to this museum for a few reasons. Very cheap, €1 for me, and the painting 'the Kiss' is there. I could have stood there for ages just taking it in

One of the most iconic Italian paintings, entitled " The Kiss"

This series of paintings is loosely entitled, " Every war is the same"
