19th August: Paris & London
** Good morning. First thing up. I never knew France was actually so vast from south to north. Adjacent is a shot of the morning starting to break over the city of Orleans, as in the Joan of Arc fame. That blue streak is just the reflection of the night lights on the bus.
Roughly 100 minutes till the trip ends on the bank of the Seine.
If my plans go well .........
Update on plans going well. Arrived in Paris, followed Marie's directions, and about 25 minute later I was drinking coffee with Matt. Beautiful appartment. He did such an amazing job on the refit.
We drank coffee, and I ate my favourite crustry light french bread. I hope remembers where he bought it and what it was called. The sound of a small whimper slowly filled the air. Emmett was obviously awake but was now feeding. I would need to wait for the mother baby bonding to complete. Eventually young Emmett appeared in Matt's arms. You cannot believe how strong this child's neck is.
If my plans go well ..........
As we hundreds of passengers were making our way down to the Eurostar level there were a number of loud bangs and flashes. Long story, short story, no electricity, train going nowhere fast.
So most likely not leaving at 12:13pm, most likely not making it to the wedding oneg Shabbat.
The train arrived in London about 30 minutes late but as far as that goes the trip was fine and the on board coffee was more than acceptable.
