Cambridge University, England

Off to Cambridge today. Just remember museums for me is akin to Disneyland for most other travellers.

Cambridge University is the third-oldest university in continuous operation in the world.

My accommodation in Cambridge (1 night)

  • Lensfield Hotel
53-57 Lensfield Road, Cambridge

The room is of course rather small, think of the size of our ensuite at home. It is however very clean, tidy & presentable. Only thing I would ping them on is there are no USB plug charge points. Also no wall handle to get out of the shower with - necessary for those not 100% steady on their feet. Small thing but can make the difference.

Vast difference between my room in Oxford & this one, even though the cost per night was near the same. Look hard in the mirror and I'm there
smiling back.

The photo of the stairs is simple because they tell every one to watch their heads even when I asked them if they had noticed how short I was. Please note for the record that I did not have to duck, nor did I bump my head. LoL

Upon arrival they informed me that there was complimentary breakfast, which is nice but for what most hotels charge, they should all offer the same - especially the 4 & 5 star ones - just one of my little whinges. After all I still have 18 odd hotels to experience assuming I get through the next 14 - 16 weeks as planned.

Cambridge is a very interesting university city. It is so very different to Oxford. It appears to be more spread out and more modern even though it is only about 100 years younger than Oxford.
